This project was a complete overhaul of an old Portland ranch-style home that had been remodeled many times before.  95% of this home was resurfaced or recovered. John Chlopek of Riverland designed the home to create a restful surrounding with a Japanese country home theme. The half-acre Japanese landscape becomes part of the living space through large wood windows and natural fir integrated throughout.  Granite counters, slate floor, teak woodwork, and antique 'heart pine' flooring create an elegant, comfortable place to retire to after a day of work. Special design emphasis for low-maintenance living and hidden storage give the home a clean, uncluttered feel. This project was completed in 8 months.
